A) Expressing Uncertainty

  • I’m not sure.
  • I’m not exactly sure.
  • I’m not entirely sure.
  • I’m not really sure.
  • I don’t know, to be honest.
  • I’m not 100% on this, but…
  • I haven’t got a clue.
  • I have no idea what’s causing the holdup. 
  • I have my doubts.
  • I’m not totally convinced actually. 
  • I can’t say for sure

B) Responding with uncertainty

  • That’s/It’s possible.
  • That might be the case actually, because I heard one of my team members mention something about that earlier.
  • That must be it.
  • That/It could be it.
  • That/It sounds plausible I suppose?
  • That makes sense I suppose?
  • I suppose that could be it. 
  • I guess that sounds reasonable.
  • I think you might be right.
  • You might/could be right about that.
  • That’s probably it then. 
  • That does make a lot of sense
  • That does sound convincing
  • Could be.
  • Maybe you’re right.
  • Maybe.
