Activity 01 – Example dialogs

Scenario 1  Simon is explaining why his report is late
Alexander: Do you think you’ll have the report ready on time?

Simon: I’m really sorry, but I won’t have it ready by Friday. The reason for the delay is that I’m still waiting on some documentation from Ito-san. I’m guessing she’s busy working on the financial closing for this year. 

Alexander: Okay, well, would you be able to send her a reminder email anyway?

Simon: Sure, I’ll do that immediately. 
Scenario 2  Alexander is speculating on why the package hasn’t arrived yet
William: Good morning Alexander. Where is that package we ordered? Wasn’t it supposed to be delivered today?

Alexander: Yes, it was supposed to be here 20 minutes ago. We suspect that the driver got the former address by mistake, so I’ve asked Caroline to contact them to confirm. I’ll get back to you in just a moment.  

William: Alright, I’ll be waiting for your call. Thanks. 
Scenario 3  Gina is speculating on why she hasn’t received confirmation from a customer yet. 
Ryan: Hey Gina, what’s happening with the Yonzen group project. Have you received any confirmation yet?

Gina: We’re not 100% sure, but I’d say the most likely reason is some kind of internal dispute on the scheduled project start time. I’ll let you know as soon as I hear something.
