A2 Grammar – Module 3 Section 2: Have to

Let’s learn about a really important modal we use to talk about things we don’t have a choice for.

I have to complete this form.
She has to visit the customer today.
Do we have to bring a projector?

Have to
The next modal is have to. Have to is for something we don’t have a choice about.
We have to pay taxes.
We have to arrive in the office before 8am.

It has the meaning that we will be in trouble if we don’t do it!

We can use it in a question like:
Do we have to finish this today?

This question is asking “Is a big problem if we finish it later?”

Let’s think about some things we all have to do!

We have to work to make money
We have to do what our boss tell us to
We have to pay taxes
Kids have to go to school
